Free Aurora University business workshop: How to effectively recruit top talent

AURORA, Ill. (Feb. 16) - "Learn How to Effectively Recruit for the Best Talent in Your Industry in Today's Changing Business Environment," a free business workshop, will be hosted by Aurora University on Feb. 29.

Heather Shepard, director of recruiting for Valor Executive Search in Chicago, will speak at 8 a.m. in the University Banquet Hall at Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place. Networking and refreshments are at 7:30 a.m. In her position, Shepard places director, C-level and venture capital professionals in positions nationwide. She holds a bachelor's degree in communication, with an emphasis in public relations, from Arizona State University.

Nov. 30: Treat the Customer Right at AU

AURORA, Ill. — “Establishing a Customer Focused Environment," a free, public business workshop, will be hosted by Aurora University on Nov. 30.

Andrew Meeks, managing partner at Oak Consulting, will speak at 8 a.m. at the University Banquet Hall at Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place. Networking and refreshments are at 7:30 a.m.

Meeks said, "In today's less-than-perfect economy, the importance of the customer cannot be understated. The question is not why companies should be customer focused, but how to do so effectively."

Meeks will discuss proven strategies that have been successfully implemented across multiple industrial and service industries.

AURORA, Ill.—“ Beyond Compliance: The Consultative Approach to HR,” a free business workshop, will be explored at the Aurora University Human Resources Institute from 8 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, in the University Banquet Hall at Alumni Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place.

The public is invited. Networking and refreshments are at 7:30 a.m.

The guest speaker is Michael H. Hahn, co-founder and CEO of Woodridge-based Beyond Good Teams and an authority on stress resiliency, motivation, integrity and attitude.

Known as “Mr. Teams,” Hahn focuses on current issues blocking a high productivity and high positivity culture. He inspires and energizes audiences to live, work and play with purpose, passion and productivity.

With a high-energy, humorous style, Hahn urges audiences to reclaim their time, energy and motivation to enjoy living life beyond their current edge. He specializes in team off-site experiential learning.

Hahn holds a dual M.B.A. in entrepreneurship and leadership and change management from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Northern Illinois University. Team Coaching Internationally certified, he also holds black belts in Tang Soo Do and Hap Ki Do, South Korean martial arts.
